Our Mission
it’s improv brings applied improvisational training to socially and economically disadvantaged individuals and their supporting organizations. Working together with community centers, volunteers and support from the generosity of donors, we bring culturally informed classes to the people who need it most.
Equity begins with expression
Every day, individuals in marginalized people and groups face barriers that silence their voices and isolate their experiences. it’s improv is helping break that silence—one laugh, one story, one moment of connection at a time.
By partnering with community centers, philanthropic supporters and volunteers, we facilitate psychologically safe and inclusive environments where participants can build confidence, resilience, and connection through play. Using applied improvisation, classes serve to equip participants to navigate real-world challenges with empathy, spontaneity, and self-assurance. Our training experience offers a chance to reclaim one’s voice and the confidence to break through into new mindsets. it’s improv is offering the chance at discovering fresh and empowering paradigms.
